Group Visits to New Hall Mill

New Hall Mill is a perfect destination for adult or mixed groups to explore a wide range of engaging topics. It’s a journey that connects visitors with their past, and inspires and informs lifelong interests.
Our experienced and enthusiastic volunteers (the Friends of New Hall Mill) can arrange a visit to suit your group's specific interests, including the following:
- Many of our Friends are mill specialists or 'tinkerers', who can support your interest in vintage machinery, industrial heritage, and traditional technologies,
- Some of our Friends specialise in history, so you can step back in time and see how our millers lived and worked, and how they played their part in our local community,
- We have an active team of Friends who love to share their passion for our miller's garden, meadows, numerous wildlife habitats, and environmental issues.
- We also offer fabulous inspiration for landscape and architectural artists, writers and poets.
- Finally, we offer tailored visits for schools.
Note that we don't usually run the waterwheel during group visits because of the additional preparation, staffing, and safety requirements. However, if appropriate, we can run our vintage diesel engine which powers our combined milling machine.
Please discuss your requirements and preferences when contacting us.
Please note that groups can only visit the Mill by prior appointment. Please contact the Secretary for further information.
