The Cart Shed

Our long-term plan for the cart shed is to develop it as a bygone farming display area. It is currently closed to the public on Open Days.

The Wagon

By the end of 2024 the wagon in the cart shed was starting to look a little jaded and in need of some TLC. We applied for a grant from Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust (SCCT) for the restoration, and we were delighted when it was approved. In October we carefully dismantled it.

The wheels and axles have now gone away to be renovated by a wheelwright, and our volunteers are tackling the body. In the photo below you can see that we're making a small start on the restoration.

Here you can see the interior of the Cart Shed at the end of the 2024 season, before putting the chairs and tables away for winter storage.
